Kazlovesbats: Regarding Being Single.

I do not have a Facebook so for those of you that have been private messaging me via youtube and tumblr; No I do not have a boyfriend and no I am not currently looking. :)
I’m cleansing my soul currently and re-sorting my priorities… I have half a heart right now which is very heavy and so it would be quite unfair and dangerous of myself to let ANYONE have it.
Once I feel it is fully repaired and depending on how current situations play out I’ll consider going back on the ‘market’. ha!
I love you all and thank you for your concerns,

10 NON-Goth Facts about me.

Often times people get so wrapped up in being a super goth they forget that us goths have features about ourselves that separate one another and make us all unique.
Goth isn't cookie cutter.
Yes we have a lot of the same interests and we all are intrigued by strange and unusual things... But we also have features about us that may not be considered so spooky or so 'uber goth'.
-AND THAT IS FINE.
:)

Its ok to not fit in a cookie cutter mold and its ok to have interests in lots of fields in life... If you don't have a lot of interests then life will be boring and you wont learn as much.

So I'm going to do a list of 10 things thats aren't so goth about me for you guys and then later I will do a post of 10 things that are uber goth of me.
I figured the non goth things would be more entertaining though so it gets to go first! ;)

Ten Non Goth Things about Me.

1. I wanted to be a professional soccer player from the age of seven until my senior year of high school. I played Striker and was on the starting high school team. I ended up quitting soccer and pursuing art.

2. I played soccer, volleyball, basketball, fastpitch softball, tennis, and ran track in high school and middle school. All during different seasons but all within the same year each year.

3. Every day I run outside for an hour around town and listen to David Guetta and Rihanna radio on pandora to get me pumped and keep me running.

4. I used to be a gogo dancer in a Dubstep/raver type club

5. I love the movie 'Mean Girls' and quote it all the time.

6. I own a ton of victoria secret's brand 'Pink' sweaters and sweatpants because I used to work at VS as a manger but also because They are soooo comfy....But they also aren't black so its an eye sore for me. haha

7.When I'm sad I listen to the band Passion Pit and it cheers me up

8. I'll dance to any music goth or not.

9. I love to snowboard.

10. A lot of my friend aren't goth at all, but regular normal people.

It was actually harder then I thought to think up ten things not so goth about me. x) I think I got some good ones down though.

Dancing to Goth Music... Simple Tips.

Finding courage to go out onto the dance floor at a local goth club can be a problem for some... but let me give you a new way to look at this 'problem'.
1. Everyone is there to have fun.
2. Everyone dances differently
3. You have a right to dance after the entry fee you paid to get in.
4. Fuck what others think, Carpe that fucking diem.
5. If you still don't have courage down some beers and then get on the floor.

Now that I've gotten those basic things out of the way for my common question about how I work up the courage to get on an empty dance floor at the beginning of the night or how I get on one at all, we can start the learning process...

When I dance I simply listen to the beats in the song. Do you remember in elementary school music class when you had to clap your hands to a beat of a song? well this is just that! except with your feet. ;)
Once you've found the beat that you would normally clap to see that as what you move your feet to and when you hear the part where you should clap make sure your foot or feet are hitting the ground during those moments.
You can get real fancy with this of course and throw in spins, half twirls, hip motions, hops, what have you...just as long as you're having fun.

You can also move your hips to those beats you would normally clap to. Instead of constantly moving your feet you can always opt out to simply moving your hips.
When you do this try to think of a belly dancer...

I also love to use my arms and hands while dancing.... The best thing to do is imagine you are a mage or something... casting a spell to the music. This sounds dumb and nerdy but I work off of visuals better then I do anything else... So I always imagine that I'm casting a spell for the emotion the song is giving me.

Dancing is meant to be fun, so when it stops being fun then you've lost the point of it... Never take yourself too seriously. After all dancing is meant to relieve stress not create it. ;)

When I was younger my favorite movie was 'Cool World' I thought the main character Holly was so badass and her dancing scenes inspired me... So I've been dancing since I was about seven due to this scene:

Now anytime when I dance I use this childhood muse in my mind to encourage me. So readers, think of one time you saw someone dancing and it inspired you, use this as fuel when you are dancing. Anytime I may feel like I'm fucking up I think of Holly from this movie and imagine I'm her... I instantly have courage and get after it.

You can always practice at home in front of a mirror as well while music is playing to get your dancing down.

Here is how I combine my feet, arms and hips into dancing:

Sure I'm dancing to Kesha (because a troll thought goths couldn't dance and so I wanted to prove the troll wrong) but you get the basic idea.

When you dance simply feel the music and imagine it coming to life through your body.

An attempt at skin care advice... Gothic style of course!

Keeping up with goth skin and make up.
Being the kind of goth that I am I put a lot of time into my look... not because I am insecure but because I simply love creating myself into a piece of art.
Here are some tips on how I stick up with my skin:

1. I wash my face everyday of course, but honestly I just use regular Dove soup. I do not use any blackhead, or face cleansing creams. These products seem to actually make my face break out.

2. When I go to sleep I actually don't remove my make up before I get into bed. I just leave it on or practice ways of spoofing it up before bed. People have said that this is bad for your skin... But my skin doesn't seem to be bothered at all.

3. I have people ask me how I am so pale. Honestly I still live by the victorian idea that pale is beautiful. I don't think I'm a vampire but I love to have a 'porcelain doll' look... I think this is due to the fact that I used to be a Sweet Lolita and still find that concept enchanting.
I am also a creature of the night so by default I hardly ever am in the sun.

My skin always seems healthy to me and I never have break outs... I can only assume that is my Dove soaps doing and genetics.
I tried to think of more skin 'tips' or 'tricks' but I honestly cant... It all just comes back to dove soap. I've never really thought hard about my skin like I have my hair. haha

Skin is easy to take care of... just keep it clean and use lotion on everything but your face. ;p

Keeping Up with Goth Hair.

Keeping up with colored hair?
I've always heard from others around me how difficult and expensive it is.
Honestly....It isn't that hard to keep up with.
So here are some of my tips for you lovely readers. :)

1. When you chose a dye make sure you have bleached your hair to a light color in order for the new bright color to show up. This seems like a self explanatory step...But I've seen many fail to consider this.

2.When bleaching your hair, Do not leave it in for too long. This will completely fry your hair and once you fry your hair there's no real turning back. While bleaching check your hair every five minutes to see how far it has faded out. As soon as it is a light golden color rinse it.

3. Leave your color dye in your hair for about 30 mins so it will be more vibrant.

4.When washing after coloring make sure to NOT use shampoo or conditioner. Shampoo will rinse out a lot of the newly added color and conditioner will weigh it down as days go by.

5.Try to not wash your hair for two weeks after dying. If it looks greasy use dry shampoo on it. This makes the color last far longer and will save you a lot of money in the long run. Just put your hair in a pony tail when you bathe to avoid getting it wet but still clean yourself.

6. Use split end mender and 'straightener cream' on your hair to keep it healthy... The straightener cream will protect your hair from the heat of a straightener.
Do not put too much of these products in your hair if you are planning on teasing it. If you put too much in it will weigh it down causing less volume.

7. Do not re-bleach your roots until your original color has grown out to about an inch and a half. If you bleach your hair too soon it will fry it.

8. whenever you wash your hair wash it in COLD water. Do not use hot water... hot water will rinse the color out.

9. When you do wash your hair, shampoo it like normal but with the conditioner make sure you buy a white colored conditioner so you can add your colored hair dye into it.
Just mix the color into the conditioner and then when you put it in your hair leave it in for a couple minutes. This will refresh your hair color and make it stronger since the conditioner has time to be soaked up into your hair.

Those are the steps I take in order to keep my hair healthy. It's not hard and I just have to buy new products like dye every month and a half.
Not Bad. :)

Crescent Hotel, Eureka Springs, AR- My Ghost Investigating Series.

It’s called the most haunted hotel in America and it’s all because of one man.  “Dr” Norman Baker.  He bought the derelict old lady during the height of the Great Depression and turned it into The Baker Cancer Hospital.  He claimed to have the cure for cancer.  He didn’t.  People died there.  In droves.  That’s why there are so many ghosts.
Literally this hotel is crawling with them... while it is very pleasing to the eye; It's not so pleasing for the mind. I stayed here last year to do my own investigation. I got a lot on this 'mission' of sorts...Some photos that are key for me and that I treasure as well as a paranormal hunter.

The photo that set the pace for my adventure I took as I was walking up to the false hope cancer hotel.

As soon as I switched my camera to the view mode I was taken back. Look at all those orbs!! You've got to be kidding me?! I knew at that moment I should probably head back to the car because I am sure as hell not getting a peaceful sleep tonight. ha!
-but then my long car trip would have been for nothing... so nervously I got my bags and headed in...after taking like 12 more orb filled photos outside.

A photo I took inside the lobby. You can find quite a few orbs in this photo as well, but I didn't see anything in the photo that I was hoping to catch... like a shadow figure, or a face outline.

(Mind you the orbs were not from dust. The hotel was very spotless, including my room.)

As you can see the hotel is so beautiful inside.
I took tons of photos which contained shit tons of orbs; but at this point the orbs became 'normal' and I actually was just taking photos because I loved the decor so much. haha

This couch I'm sitting on above... I wanted it. So incredibly badly... How gothic and bad ass is this? seriously! Oh! and yes that is me... I've changed quite a bit in a year, huh? ;)

After roaming around the lobby, checking in and putting my bags away I started my hunt. The lights stay on in the hotel thankfully... because otherwise I think I would have been freaked out beyond words. At least I could see what was in front of me.

The hallways were all the same. Just tons of orbs and running into others doing the exact same thing I was doing. Hunting for the bigfoot of paranormal research.

Until I chose to find a place other weren't going to or bothering with. I went downstairs, to the basement and what used to be the morgue. It was very intense with activity and sadly since I have yet to have invested in a evp recorder, video camera or ghostbox I have no proof of what I heard or saw... other than photos.

downstairs there is also a phone booth... unsure why... but to the right of me next to my head in the other glass panel you will see in the glass a weird black shadow. The inside of the telephone booth did not have any black smudges nor did the glass.

This photo gave me the chills when I saw it!
It was in the booth with me whatever it was. haha!

That night of course I experienced a lot of activity while in my room but sadly have no proof of it since I didnt own documenting devices...

My conclusion? This hotel is breath taking and very gothically inclined. I highly recommend staying here to experience something for yourself.

Eureka Springs Cemetery- My Ghost Investigating Series.

Eureka Springs, AR... Known for its long history of ghosts and the world famous haunted location 'The Crescent Hotel' has a cemetery like no other... I had gone to Eureka Springs last year in September (Photo above) for a ghost investigation and to celebrate my birthday. Any time I go out of town I make sure to visit the cemetery of what ever town I am in...Normally in the day time because I am simply visiting the grave to see the sights and enjoy the beauty.

I wasn't expecting to ghost hunt or to have any activity for that matter.

This, without a doubt, is one of my favorite cemeteries and is simply breath taking.
However, even though it was still early in the morning (around 10 am) I could still hear things in the wind and feel strong vibes... Actually I found this place by chance and was planning on going to a different cemetery. As I was driving down the dirt road I saw the gates to the cemetery and had a very strong pull to stop and take a look.

I got a ton of awesome photos with orbs, mist and.... 'auras'?

I was shocked by this considering it wasn't the witching hour and that it takes much more energy to make yourself known in the daytime for a spirit.

It was still 10 a.m after all.

The photo above has an impressive orb. This is the largest orb I've ever caught on camera...
the gravestone has the date 1835 I believe...

this is the 'aura' I was talking about. Notice the purple/blueish shading around the gravestone. I have not edited this of course and my camera works properly so it was not my cameras doing. I've taken lots of photos and have never had this happen before or after this shot. I call it an Aura because the colors around this photo was the exact emotion I was feeling from this head stone or grave rather... The stone was so covered in moss that I couldn't find out more about this person or when they died.

This is my favorite image I've ever captured of paranormal.
have you ever captured something like this?
Or do you know the proper name of when this happens to a photo?

Click on this photo above to see two orbs floating away from the top of the two headstones towards each other.

What an unexpected surprise that I got so much activity in the morning from such a lovely grave site.

My conclusion from this gravesite is that it is, of course, very beautiful; but also very active!
I would love to come back to this cemetery during the witching hours sometime this year and see what I can capture!
